Product Questions

Are your products really made in the USA?
YES ... all of our products are made in America! We do not sell imported products. We believe in keeping American jobs and supporting American families. We believe only the best American craftsmanship should honor our veterans for their service to our great country.

Our flag display cases are handcrafted in the USA by skilled North Carolina furniture craftsmen. Our manufacturer is the "Original" flag display case company as they were originally chosen by the US government to supply burial flag display cases for our American heroes lost in military service. They handcraft the Heritage flag display case, the official flag case chosen by the US Military for today's families of fallen heroes of the Armed Forces. And our Veteran Storage Chest Footlocker was originally commissioned by the Secretary of the Army to honor the memory of those soldiers who have fallen while serving to protect this nation. The Reagan family chose our Presidential Flag Case to protect and display the burial flag of President Ronald Reagan.

Will my loved one's burial, funeral, internment flag fit into your flag display cases?
If the US Government issued your flag as part of military funeral honors, it will fit in all of our flag cases (EXCEPT for those designed for 3x5 Presentation Flags). If your flag was not issued by the US Government, but it is the standard flag size of 5' x 9.5' it will also fit. Folded flag dimensions will vary slightly depending upon the skill of the person folding the flag. The important dimension is the bottom edge. The 5' x 9.5' standard burial flag will measure about 21-24” across the BASE of the folded flag. The 3'x5' presentation flag will measure 12-15" across the BASE of the folded flag. Why such variation? The final dimension depends upon the skill of the folders and how tight the flag is folded.

I received a flag from my Congressman that flew over the US Capitol. Which flag display cases will fit it?
Our Small American Flag Display Case is designed to fit 3x5 Presentation Flags.

I'm confused by all the choices and possible combinations. Can you help me?
First determine the size of your flag (see item 1 above). Be sure to make sure the flag case you've chosen fits the flag you have. Then consider how you want to display your flag. Do you plan to mount it on the wall (most of our cases can be wall mounted) or do you want to display it on a table or shelf? Consider function. Do you want to display just the flag or with medals, decorations, spent cartridges, etc? Do you want engraving? Do you need an urn for ashes? Do you want to add a medallion for branch of service or the Great Seal of the United States. Call us any time at 336-213-8691 or email sales@americanmadeforamericanheroes.com for answers to your questions.

How do I fold my flag if it is not folded?
Use our step by step instructions for How to Fold the American Flag. Or take your flag to a local Boy Scout troop of VFW post for folding. You can also purchase a pre-folded American flag from us in two different sizes (large 5x9.5 standard US military burial (casket) size or small 3x5 presentation size). These flags are made in the USA and lovingly, skillfully folded by our craftsmen in the mountains of NC.

We only received one flag at the service but more family members would like to honor our veteran relative with a nice flag case display. What are our options?
You can purchase a pre-folded American flag from us in two different sizes (large 5x9.5 standard US military burial (casket) size or small 3x5 presentation size). Our flags are 100% made in the USA and lovingly, skillfully folded by our craftsmen in the mountains of NC. Our G-Spec Government Spec American Flags are 100% cotton made to strict Government Specifications so they are the same as what was presented at your veteran's ceremony. With the pre-folded flag, you can create your own or multiple flag case tributes.

How do I open my flag case?
The Heritage Flag Display Case opens in the front. All other flag cases open in the back.

Can I hang my flag case on the wall?
All of our flag cases can be wall mounted. However, if you also include a shadowbox or pedestal the total display must be tabletop or shelf.

How do I take care of my flag case?
You can use a soft dry cloth to clean your flag case. If the glass becomes dirty, you can use standard glass cleaner. You can use standard wood polish, such as Old English or Pledge, to care for the wood.

I'd like a pedestal for the flag case, but I don't want an urn. What are my options?
The Full Length Pedestal and Urn in combination sets does double duty as a pedestal and hidden urn. The key word is HIDDEN. If you do not need the urn, you will never know it is there and neither will anyone else.

Can I add an engraved personalized plate to my flag display case?
Yes. You can create any personalized message. Maximum 3 lines and 38 characters per line. Most people honor departed veterans by engraving the name of their loved one, birth date, date of their passing and their military service. For living veterans you may want to include their name, branch of service and years of active duty or any message of your choosing. The engraved plate comes unattached and has self-adhesive backing so you can place where you think it looks best. It is usually placed on the glass along the bottom center. You can add an optional engraved plate to most of our flag cases.

Can I add a military branch service medallion to my flag display case?
Yes, you can purchase an optional brass or color service medallion or laser medallion.

Other Questions

I really want to honor my veteran's military honors and medals but some of them are lost. How can I replace missing military medals and decorations?
Unfortunately, over the years many veterans have lost, misplaced, or discarded the medals and ribbons they earned while in the Military. Sometimes, the servicemember never received the medal or award for some reason, even though the citation was written and the award approved. And often, we simply no longer know what medals and decorations may have been awarded to our veteran. Many pawn shops, military surplus stores and vendors sell military medals, ribbons, and awards, but there is also a way to obtain replacements (sometimes for free) from the Government. Read our Guide for Replacing Military Medals.
